Nolensville spent most of its history as a small village on Nolensville Pike. Then the farms around it became subdivisions like Bent Creek and Ballenger Farms, and the town grew fast. Nolensville pollen and clay come inside

Middle Tennessee has a heavy pollen season every spring, and Nolensville is surrounded by trees and open pasture. For a few weeks the pollen coats cars and porch rails in a yellow film. It comes into the house on shoes and on the dog, then settles on window sills and shelves. A dry duster mostly pushes it around, so we wipe it up with a damp cloth. Clay is easy to pick up as dust and much harder to get out of grout later.

Summers here are hot and humid, and bathrooms get the worst of it. A shower the whole family uses every day never fully dries out. Mildew starts in the grout corners and along the caulk at the base of the glass. Glass shower doors also build up a cloudy film of soap and water spots that a quick wipe will not move. We scrub those every visit, because a bathroom left alone for a month in August takes real work to bring back.
